Standard 2

2. Design and develop digital age learning experiences and assessments Teachers design, develop, and evaluate authentic learning experiences and assessments incorporating contemporary tools and resources to maximize content learning in context and to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes identified in the Standards•S.

a. Design or adapt relevant learning experiences that incorporate digital tools and resources to promote student learning and creativity

b. Develop technology-enriched learning environments that enable all students to pursue their individual curiosities and become active participants in setting their own educational goals, managing their own learning, and assessing their own progress

c. Customize and personalize learning activities to address students’ diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources

d. Provide students with multiple and varied formative and summative assessments aligned with content and technology standards, and use resulting data to inform learning and teaching

Evidence of My Progress

1. Plickers Assessment Tool

Plickers is an app that allows teacher to receive instant feedback and statistics from their students. This can be a formative or a summative assessment tool in the classroom. The results of the assessments can help teachers decide on a course of action. Do they need to reteach the material, or is the understanding good enough over the majority of the class that everyone can move on. This is a unique form of assessment because each student gets their own piece of paper that allows them to answer multiple choice questions as an ipad roams around the room collecting answers. It is efficient, and the amount of information that is learned from this is huge.

2. Tally Chart and Pictograph

This activity was designed as a relevant learning experience for Kindergarten students to collect data, organize, and graph the data. This is very relevant, because collecting data is a very big part of the bases of math and science i education. This activity can be personalized to fit many different learning styles, as it is very hands on, and it is a great example of students abilities using digital tools and resources.

3. Snowman Glyph

This is a relevant activity because it is super important to follow directions. This activity is based in the answers given to a set of questions, so students have to be aware of their answers and what they are being told to do.  This is a relevant learning experience, but it is incorporating technology, which satisfies this standard.
